Main topics and themes

In the context of the Bias Correction In Climate Studies Workshop, we invite researchers, practitioners, and experts in the field to submit their contributions to the workshop. We are accepting abstracts for oral presentations, posters, and case studies that showcase innovative approaches, practical applications/studies, or theoretical advancements related to bias correction in climate studies.

 Key topics of interest include a wide array of approaches to bias correction, such as:

  • Techniques for handling extreme events;
  • Innovative methods using machine learning and deep learning;
  • Generative / stochastic approaches;
  • Accounting for uncertainties and variability;
  • Adjusting compound events (with multivariate, spatial, or temporal dependencies);
  • Tailoring methods for model ensembles;
  • Incorporating non-stationarity features;
  • And more.

  These topics will be explored across a variety of themes, including:

  • Methodological advancements and evaluations;
  • Applications with real-world sectoral impacts;
  • Public and private climate services;
  • Long-term climate projections;
  • Sub-seasonal, seasonal (S2S), and decadal forecasting;
  • Open-source tools and software;
  • And much more.
